IGRAB World Cup Champions 2010

On Sunday June 20th the Gotham Knights beat two-time defending champion Sydney Convicts, 18-15, to win the fifth Bingham Cup, held in Minneapolis. The Convicts had won the event in 2006 and 2008, after San Francisco Fog won the first two cups.

Sydney entered the title match the prohibitive favorite, having won the previous two Bingham Cups and knocked out the San Francisco Fog, winners of the first two titles, in the semifinal. Gotham proved to be a worthy opponent, and the two contenders put on a thrilling hard-fought show from start to finish.

Gotham's upcoming challenge is to maximize success in the 2010 Union season in the fall. For information on joining Gotham email recruitingatgothamrfc [dot] org (Recruiting), or come to Gotham's Fall Boot Camp.

Spring 2010 Boot Camp

The Gotham boot camp is a great opportunity to introduce new players to Gotham Knights RFC and the great sport that is rugby.  All athletic levels are welcome. We have a competitive "A" side and a social "B" side.  No matter what your ability or prior experience, we have a spot for you.  Our club includes people who never saw a rugby ball before joining us, as well as ex-pats from England, Ireland, Australia, etc., who were born with a rugby ball in hand.

Gotham Recruits Head Coach

Pos KyriacouPos played at London Wasps the early part of his career, playing for England at College level and winning the British University Championship with Brunel University. When injury forced him to cut back he played first division rugby for Bracknell RFC at a level below English Premiership. At the same time, he began coaching schools and clubs reaching Coaching Level 2-3 RFU status. He played and captained Cyprus in both 15s and 7s rugby.
